There are three core values that help guide the Women of Today in the actions of our organization. We believe that by following these value systems, we will be able to maintain our mission of helping both our members and the community to prosper.
Service
The Women of Today strive to contribute to our society by raising funds for worthy causes and providing services or education to the benefit of the members of the community.
Some of the functions that we either host or help with include:
- Riverfest Community Celebration
- Monticello Food Shelf (Birthday Bags and Women’s Wellness Bags)
- Nursing Home Christmas Tree Decorating
- Toys for Tots Distribution
- Walk for Epilepsy
- March of Dimes for Babies
- American Cancer Society Relay for Life
- Domestic Violence Awareness
Growth
Growth refers to developing and fostering skills and talents related to becoming successful individuals, such as interacting with various types of people and becoming capable leaders. There are numerous opportunities to develop these needed skills and talents, from committee work to working as a officer within our local, state, or national organizations.
Areas where it is possible to achieve personal growth or enrichment include:
- Public Speaking Opportunities
- Personal Enrichment Program Courses
- Chapter Officers
- Local Program Managers
Fellowship
Membership in Women of Today provides opportunities to develop friendships with people who share similar interests. It is a great way to make friends in your community – and you can also make friends across the state, and the nation! Every chapter holds a variety of social activities for members to get together and have fun!
Examples of these activities in our chapter include:
- Mystery Tour
- Girls Night Out
- Family Picnic
- Caribou Coffee Socials
- Game Nights
- State Conventions
- Member/Partner Appreciation Night
- Annual Awards Banquet
